Mighty Campers AU (Domestic) Rental Terms

IMPORTANT: Please note that this listing is available to Australian and New Zealand residents only and you will be required to provide identification (passport, drivers license and credit card) upon collection of your vehicle. If you are an international customer, please return to the search page and select your country of residence to see more options. We reserve the right to collect any outstanding monies from your nominated credit card in the event that your booking is confirmed in error i.e. confirmed as Domestic instead of an International customer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RENTALS

On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Mighty Campers Australia. Here is a summary of their terms and conditions.

DEFINITIONS
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Mighty Campers Australia.

  • The Supplier means the operator of Mighty Campers Australia.
  • The Client is also referred to as the hirer (s) or renter (s).

PAYMENT TERMS
* The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. Payment will be deducted from your nominated credit card at the time of confirmation (Visa or Mastercard only).
* The balance payable is due to the supplier upon collection of your vehicle.
* A bond amount of AU$3,500 for the Highball, Jackpot Double Down and Deuce or AU$5,000 for the Double Up is also due upon arrival. This amount is deducted from your credit card is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned to the correct location on time, is full of fuel and all other terms of the Rental Contract have been complied with. Please read the Terms and Conditions for full details.
Note: full balance of payment (including the deposit) will be collected at the time of confirmation if you have elected to process your booking in a currency different to AUD.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The deposit is non refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges apply:
- If cancelled up to 25 days prior to pick-up No Further Fee
- If cancelled from 24 to 10 days prior to pick-up 20% of Total Rental
- If cancelled 9 to 4 days prior to pick-up 50% of Total Rental
- If cancelled 3 days prior or on day of pick up or No-Show 100% of Total Rental
- If vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever no refund is available for the unused portion of the hire

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS
The credit or debit card holder will be jointly and severally liable as a customer. Accepted credit and debit cards are Visa Card and MasterCard. A non-refundable 2% administration fee will apply to all Visa and MasterCard transactions. Credit card administration fees also apply to debited vehicle security deposits and only the hirer’s credit and debit card is acceptable to use for the purpose of the vehicle security deposit.

FOR YOUR PROTECTION
Personal injury is covered in most cases through registration Third Party insurance. Mighty does not accept any liability for personal injuries sustained during the rental and recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have personal travel insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings. Mighty strongly recommends that all people travelling in Australia take out personal travel insurance.

# In the USA a liability is referred to as the “deductible”.

MIGHTY LIGHT:
All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The Mighty Light vehicle liability is included in the Flex rate and the hirer is responsible for the first AU$3,500 (“the liability”) for the Highball, Jackpot Double Down and Deuce or AU$5,000 (“the liability”) for the Double Up, of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to therented vehicle, including single vehicle accident (does not include single vehicle roll over), windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is being repaired. In addition to these costs, an administration fee of AU$60 may apply, per claim.

The liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental.

Mighty reserves the right to charge the hirer for any vehicle damage including Third Party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The liability will be refunded if Mighty is successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third Party. Please note that Third Party claims can take months to resolve.

The liability applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all liability cover will be made void.

THE ALMIGHTY:

In addition to the inclusions in the daily rental rate, The Almighty includes:

- Pre-Purchase Gas (customers can return the vehicle without refilling the gas bottle. Gas is used for cooking and heating hot water in vehicles with a hot water facility)

* Unlimited windscreen and tyres will be covered for accidental damage.
* Note that tyre and windscreen cover is only available with The Almighty. It can not be purchased separately.

MIGHTY STRONGLY RECOMMENDS OUR CUSTOMERS TAKE THE ALMIGHTY OPTION FOR TRAVEL WITH PEACE OF MIND.

EXCLUSIONS:
All liability cover will be made void if any of the following ‘Exclusions’ are breached:
1. Overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle except where The Almighty option has been purchased (does not cover single vehicle roll over).
2. A single vehicle roll over occurs except where Additional Protection coverage has been purchased.
3. Tyre and windscreen damage unless The Almighty option has been purchased.
4. Any water related damage which includes, but is not limited to:
     a) any vehicle submersion
     b) creek or river crossing
     c) driving through flooded areas
     d) beach driving
5. Personal belongings. Mighty recommends the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have travel insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings.
6. Any damage caused by wilful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle).
7. Any damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
8. Damage caused to the vehicle by snow chains.
9. Cost of replacement of any lost or stolen additional hire items, living equipment or linen.
10. The Customer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel or the use of Bio-Diesel which should not be used (fuel being diesel or petrol), or water or other contamination of fuel.
11. The cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged, caught, trapped, stuck or restricted in anyway and/or has been abandoned.
12. The cost to replace keys, which have been lost or retrieval of keys, which have been locked in a vehicle.
13. The vehicle rented may only be used to carry the maximum number of passengers as dictated by the vehicle type. If more passengers are carried than what is allowed Mighty does not accept any liability.
14. Damage caused to the vehicle because total load (kg) has exceeded recommended load as stated in vehicle manual. Vehicles are not to be used for the purpose of transporting and haulage of goods other than what might be reasonably expected of a leisure rental.
15. Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that have a licence that has been cancelled or suspended and/or drivers who have a licence that is classified as a learners or probationary licence.

VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
Upon vehicle collection, a vehicle security deposit is required. The amount is determined by the Liability reduction option selected. The vehicle security deposit is applicable regardless if the hirer has purchased private travel insurance.

For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a vehicle security deposit. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the vehicle security deposit upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle. Any type of pre-paid travel card is not acceptable as a means to provide a vehicle security deposit. Visa and MasterCard debit cards are acceptable provided the card is being used as a credit card.

Debited vehicle security deposits are subject to a 2% credit card administration fee in addition to the vehicle security deposit amount. Accepted credit cards are Visa or MasterCard.

If the customer elects to keep the Mighty Light vehicle liability and no further Liability reduction option selected, the vehicle security deposit is AU$5,000 for the Double Up and AU$3,500 for all other Campervans payable by credit card.
The AU$3,500 or AU$5,000 is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If The Almighty option is selected, the vehicle security deposit is AU$220.
The AU$220 is taken as an imprint to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. An imprint simply records a figure against the hirer’s credit card of AU$220 that Mighty can then debit if required.

The vehicle security deposit is fully refundable, including the credit card surcharge if the card used to provide the vehicle security deposit is a Visa or MasterCard, provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, in a clean condition, having completed all items on the Mighty Vehicle Return Checklist and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle. Except where the customer has purchased the Pre-Purchase Gas Option (PGO is included in The Almighty) and/or Pre Purchase Fuel (PPF), failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tanks and/or a full LPG bottle will result in refill charges, which will be advised upon return of the vehicle. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in additional charges plus an administration fee of $50.

Mighty reserves the right to retain an AU$220 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition. This includes smoking related cleaning, as smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. The toilet and waste water tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional AU$125 soiling fee will be retained for those vehicles with a toilet and/or waste water tank.

FOR SECURITY PURPOSES, ONLY THE HIRERS CREDIT CARD CAN BE USED FOR VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSITS.

RENTAL DURATION
- Minimum rental period is five days with the exception of one-way hires. Please refer to one-way rentals section for more information.
- All campervan rentals with a collection date between the 20th December and the 10th of January are subject to a ten-day minimum rental requirement.
- Mighty Double Up rentals from Sydney that collect during the Bathurst races will have a minimum rental requirement of 7 days. The races usually occur in early October.
- Mighty Double Up rentals from Melbourne that collect during the Phillip Island races, will have a minimum rental requirement of 7 days.
- Minimum rental periods are subject to change during peak periods.
- Rental days are calculated on a calendar day basis. When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick-up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental.
- Late pick-up or early return of vehicle, does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental.
- Mighty Pick Up is a self-service process and requires the Customer to have completed Self Check-In online or in the branch. If additional service is required from a Mighty staff member, a fee of AU$50 may apply.
- The Customer is required to pick up at the time selected when the booking is confirmed. If the Customer wishes to change this time prior to the day of travel, they must obtain authorisation from the Mighty Reservation Centre.
- The Customer is required to drop off at the time stated on the Rental Agreement. If the customer wishes to change this time prior to the day of drop off, they must obtain authorisation from the Mighty Reservation Centre.
- If the customer wishes to extend the rental for an extra day(s) whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorisation from Reservations or any of the Mighty branches. The rental extension is subject to vehicle availability. The cost of an extended rental day(s) must be paid by credit card over the telephone on confirmation of the rental extension. The rate charged may not reflect the original rate booked. Failure to obtain authorisation will result in a daily fee of AU$150 in addition to the daily rate.

  • One-way rentals are available between all Mighty branch locations with the exception of the Jackpot which is only available to and from Melbourne, Sydney, Byron Bay/Ballina Airport, Brisbane and Cairns.  
  • Minimum rental period for one-way hires is 7 days or greater depending on collection and return location please refer to the one way matrix.
  • A one-way fee of $260 applies where pick up originates from Cairns, Brisbane, Byron Bay/Ballina Airport, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, and also returns to one of these locations. Should the hire originate or return to or from Darwin, Alice Springs or Perth, the one-way fee will be $360. Example, a Cairns to Darwin one-way rental would incur a one-way fee of $360, where a one-way rental from Cairns to Brisbane will incur a one-way fee of $260.
  • The one-way fee if applicable is charged per hire.
  • Mighty reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions and/or the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period.

BOXING DAY SURCHARGE
A surcharge of AU$100 will apply to all rentals picking up or dropping off on Boxing Day (26th December) at all Mighty locations.

CHANGE OF LOCATION
If the customer wishes to change the pick up or drop-off location from what was originally booked, permission must be first obtained from the reservations or scheduling departments.

Subject to the change being approved, an additional charge of up to AU$700 may apply.

TRANSFERS
Mighty clients will need to make their own way from the airport to the applicable Mighty branch, at their own expense.

TOLL AND TRAFFIC OFFENCES AND ADMINISTRATION FEES
Mighty reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding, toll way or parking fines. In addition to the costs associated per fine, an administration fee of AU$60 may be applicable.

EXCHANGE RATE / CURRENCY VARIATIONS
All credit and debit card transactions are conducted in Australian dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations and bank transaction fees there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Mighty does not accept any liability for variances up or down.

LICENCE
A current and full (i.e. no probationary licences are accepted) Australian or New Zealand motor vehicle driver’s licence is required and must be produced upon vehicle collection.

AGE Restrictions
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over with the exception of drivers hiring the Lowball, Highball and Jackpot vehicles. These drivers may have a minimum age of 18 years.

MULTIPLE RENTALS
Should a customer have more than one consecutive rental they can be combined to qualify for longer-term hire discounts off the vehicle rate. Consecutive campervan hire in Australia and New Zealand and/or consecutive car hire in New Zealand for Mighty can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s is within a 3-month period. For all rentals to qualify each booking needs to be made at the same time. If a customer makes another booking at a later time, the new booking can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s is within a 3-month period however, the original booking/s will only qualify for a discount if the booking/s are not already travelling or travelled.

Note that 2WD car hire in Australia cannot be combined with any campervan or New Zealand car hire to qualify for longer-term discounts.
Longer-term discounts must be requested at the time of booking.

For campervans that pick up and drop off on the same day, the less expensive rental day will be free of charge. This also applies to The Almighty option if applicable.

If multiple hires are within the same country and total days exceed 50 days only the maximum charge applicable to The Almighty will apply.

Vehicle security deposits can be transferred between most multiple rentals. This service is available when the booked products are campervans and the vehicle security deposit amount is the same.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Campervans can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. The only exceptions to this are well-maintained access roads of less than twelve kilometres* to recognised campgrounds and well-maintained, recognised roads on Kangaroo Island (South Australia).

Should a customer wish to travel on an unsealed road that is greater than twelve kilometres in length to access a recognised campground special permission can be arranged pending road condition, weather and distance. Please contact your local representative to discuss.

Mighty reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions and/or the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period.

ON-ROAD ASSISTANCE
Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to Mighty as soon as possible and within 24 hours in order to give Mighty the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental. Failure to do so will compromise any claims for compensation. Mighty does not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.

Baby Seat/ Booster Seat Restraints
The type of restraint required for your child depends on their age as follows:
• Children aged under six months (up to 9kg) must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear facing child restraint. Children in this category cannot be seated in the front of our vehicles.
• Children aged between six months and under four years (8 – 18kg) must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear facing child restraint OR a forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness. Children in this category cannot be seated in the front of our vehicles.
• Children aged between four years and under seven (14 – 26 kg) must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness OR an approved booster seat which is properly positioned and fastened. Whilst it is legal (under certain circumstances) for a child in this category to sit in the front seat, Mighty does not recommend any child under 26kgs or under seven years travels in the front seat.
• All child restraints must comply with current Australian Standards and it is the responsibility of customers to fit them in the vehicle. We strongly recommend any child restraints are pre booked.
WHERE YOUR CHILD CAN SIT
• Front seats in Mighty vehicles are not fitted with anchor points and cannot accommodate children under four years in any case.
• If all appropriate rear seats are being used by children under seven years, children aged between four and six years (inclusive) may travel in the front seat, provided they use an approved booster seat.

PLEASE NOTE
Mighty vehicles are not fitted with child safety barriers for top bunk / overhead beds. Mighty recommends children sleep in the lower dinette-converted beds.

REPAIRS
Repairs up to AU$200 may be affected without authorisation and will be reimbursed. For amounts over AU$200, Mighty will need to be informed in advance. Repairs will be approved provided the hirer was not directly responsible for the damage. Receipts must be submitted for any repair or the claim will not be paid.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable, Mighty reserves the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to a refund.

VEHICLE CATEGORY
Vehicles cannot be requested by make or model, only by vehicle category.

VOLUNTARY DOWNGRADE
Should the hirer decide to take a smaller vehicle than booked they will not be entitled to any refund.

DISCRETION
Mighty reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion.

ANIMALS
No animals are permitted in our vehicles, excluding guide dogs.

PERSONAL AND COMPANY CHEQUES
Personal and Company cheques will not be accepted as payment for rentals at the time of pick-up. These must be paid to Mighty 14 days prior to commencement of rentals. Personal or Company cheques are not acceptable as the vehicle security deposit.

CALCULATION ERRORS
Mighty will not honour calculation errors. Should a calculation error occur Mighty will charge for the shortfall.

DISCLAIMER
Illustrations and text in any of our brochures or website are a representation only of the vehicle depicted. Variances in the vehicles offered for rental may occur due to substitutions made by Mighty or modifications and/or upgrades to the vehicle design made by the manufacturer.

BRANCHES FOR VEHICLE COLLECTION AND RETURN
*Please note that the Jackpot is not available to or from Alice Springs, Darwin or Perth.

OPERATING HOURS
Mighty branches are open 7 days a week with the following exceptions:
• Mighty branches are closed on ANZAC day (25th April), Christmas Day (25th December), New Year’s Day (1st January) and Australia Day Observed Public Holiday (27th January).
• Mighty branches are closed on Sundays during off peak months. See “dates and hours of operation” for more information.
• A $100 surcharge will apply to all rentals picking up or dropping off on Boxing Day (26th December).
• During the period from 20th December to 28th February the Darwin branch will be closed.
Note: Although branches will be closed on Good Friday 2014, it does not fall within the Mighty 2013 / 2014 travel season. Last vehicle collections are an hour before closing.
Please ensure that adequate time is allowed to complete the required paperwork when collecting or returning a vehicle. All vehicles must be collected from and returned to a Mighty branch.

Liability

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.95% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency): 25.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Mighty Campers AU (Domestic) Rental Terms for travel between 01-Apr-2014 and 31-Mar-2015

IMPORTANT: Please note that this listing is available to Australian and New Zealand residents only and you will be required to provide identification (passport, drivers license and credit card) upon collection of your vehicle. If you are an international customer, please return to the search page and select your country of residence to see more options. We reserve the right to collect any outstanding monies from your nominated credit card in the event that your booking is confirmed in error i.e. confirmed as Domestic instead of an International customer.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RENTALS


On arrival you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the operators of Mighty Campers Australia. Here is a summary of their terms and conditions.

DEFINITIONS
The following definitions apply for the Terms and Conditions for Mighty Campers Australia.

  • The Supplier means the operator of Mighty Campers Australia.
  • The Client is also referred to as the hirer (s) or renter (s).

PAYMENT TERMS
* The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. Payment will be deducted from your nominated credit card at the time of confirmation (Visa or Mastercard only).
* The balance payable is due to the supplier upon collection of your vehicle.
* A bond amount of AU$3,500 for the Lowball, Highball, Jackpot and Double Down or AU$5,000 for the Deuce, Double Up and Big Six is also due upon arrival. This amount is deducted from your credit card is fully refundable when the vehicle is returned to the correct location on time, is full of fuel and all other terms of the Rental Contract have been complied with. Please read the Terms and Conditions for full details.
Note: full balance of payment (including the deposit) will be collected at the time of confirmation if you have elected to process your booking in a currency different to AUD.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The deposit is non refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges apply:
- If cancelled up to 25 days prior to pick-up No Further Fee
- If cancelled from 24 to 10 days prior to pick-up 20% of Total Rental
- If cancelled 9 to 4 days prior to pick-up 50% of Total Rental
- If cancelled 3 days prior or on day of pick up or No-Show 100% of Total Rental
- If vehicle is returned early for any reason whatsoever no refund is available for the unused portion of the hire

BOOKING AMENDMENTS
All amendments to bookings are subject to availability of vehicle and/or package. Different rates may apply based on the amendment made.

TRAVEL INSURANCE
We strongly recommend that clients ensure they take out the highest level of travel insurance. In many cases this will cover any losses incurred if you are forced to cancel your booking.

CREDIT AND DEBIT CARDS
The credit or debit card holder will be jointly and severally liable as a customer. Accepted credit and debit cards are Visa Card and MasterCard. A non-refundable 2% administration fee will apply to all Visa and MasterCard transactions. Credit card administration fees also apply to debited vehicle security deposits and only the hirer’s credit and debit card is acceptable to use for the purpose of the vehicle security deposit.

FOR YOUR PROTECTION
Personal injury is covered in most cases through registration Third Party insurance. Mighty does not accept any liability for personal injuries sustained during the rental and recommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have personal travel insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings. Mighty strongly recommends that all people travelling in Australia take out personal travel insurance.

# In the USA a liability is referred to as the “deductible”.

MIGHTY LIGHT:
All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The Mighty Light vehicle liability is included in the Flex rate and the hirer is responsible for the first AU$3,500 (“the liability”) for the Lowball, Highball, Jackpot and Double Down or AU$5,000 (“the liability”) for the Deuce, Double Up and Big Six, of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident (does not include single vehicle roll over), windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is being repaired. In addition to these costs, an administration fee of AU$60 may apply, per claim.

The liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. Mighty reserves the right to charge the hirer for any vehicle damage including Third Party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The liability will be refunded if Mighty is successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third Party. Please note that Third Party claims can take months to resolve.

The liability applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all liability cover will be made void.

The liability can be reduced by the purchase of The Almighty.

* Note that tyre and windscreen cover is only available with The Almighty. It can not be purchased separately.

MIGHTY STRONGLY RECOMMENDS OUR CUSTOMERS TAKE THE ALMIGHTY OPTION FOR TRAVEL WITH PEACE OF MIND.

EXCLUSIONS:
All liability cover will be made void if any of the following ‘Exclusions’ are breached:
1. Overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle except where the The Almighty option has been purchased (does not cover single vehicle roll over).
2. A single vehicle roll over occurs except where Additional Protection coverage has been purchased.
3. Tyre and windscreen damage unless The Almighty option has been purchased.
4. Any water related damage which includes, but is not limited to:
     a) any vehicle submersion
     b) creek or river crossing
     c) driving through flooded areas
     d) beach driving
5. Personal belongings. Mighty recommends the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have travel insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings.
6. Any damage caused by wilful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle).
7. Any damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
8. Damage caused to the vehicle by snow chains.
9. Cost of replacement of any lost or stolen additional hire items, living equipment or linen.
10. The Customer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel or the use of Bio-Diesel which should not be used (fuel being diesel or petrol), or water or other contamination of fuel.
11. The cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged, caught, trapped, stuck or restricted in anyway and/or has been abandoned.
12. The cost to replace keys, which have been lost or retrieval of keys, which have been locked in a vehicle.
13. The vehicle rented may only be used to carry the maximum number of passengers as dictated by the vehicle type. If more passengers are carried than what is allowed Mighty does not accept any liability.
14. Damage caused to the vehicle because total load (kg) has exceeded recommended load as stated in vehicle manual. Vehicles are not to be used for the purpose of transporting and haulage of goods other than what might be reasonably expected of a leisure rental.
15. Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that have a licence that has been cancelled or suspended and/or drivers who have a licence that is classified as a learners or probationary licence.

VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
Upon vehicle collection, a vehicle security deposit is required. The amount is determined by the Liability reduction option selected. The vehicle security deposit is applicable regardless if the hirer has purchased private travel insurance.

For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a vehicle security deposit. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the vehicle security deposit upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle. Any type of pre-paid travel card is not acceptable as a means to provide a vehicle security deposit. Visa and MasterCard debit cards are acceptable provided the card is being used as a credit card.

Debited vehicle security deposits are subject to a 2% credit card administration fee in addition to the vehicle security deposit amount. Accepted credit cards are Visa or MasterCard.

If the customer elects to keep the Mighty Light vehicle liability and no further Liability reduction option selected, the vehicle security deposit is AU$5,000 for the Deuce, Double Up and Big Six and AU$3,500 for all other Campervans payable by credit card.
The AU$3,500 or AU$5,000 is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If  The Almighty option is selected, the vehicle security deposit is AU$250.
The AU$250 is taken as an imprint to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. An imprint simply records a figure against the hirer’s credit card of AU$250 that Mighty can then debit if required.

The vehicle security deposit is fully refundable, including the credit card surcharge if the card used to provide the vehicle security deposit is a Visa or MasterCard, provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, in a clean condition, having completed all items on the Mighty Vehicle Return Checklist and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle. Except where the customer has purchased the Pre-Purchase Gas Option (PGO is included in The Almighty) and/or Pre Purchase Fuel (PPF), failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tanks and/or a full LPG bottle will result in refill charges, which will be advised upon return of the vehicle. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in additional charges plus an administration fee of $50.

Mighty reserves the right to retain an AU$250 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition. This includes smoking related cleaning, as smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. The toilet and waste water tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional AU$125 soiling fee will be retained for those vehicles with a toilet and/or waste water tank.

FOR SECURITY PURPOSES, ONLY THE HIRERS CREDIT CARD CAN BE USED FOR VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSITS.

RENTAL DURATION
- Minimum rental period  is 5 days with the exception of the Mighty Lowball, which has a 3 day minimum if the pick-up and return  location  is  the same. One-way hires are subject to increased minimum hire requirements. Please refer to one-way rentals section for more information.
- All campervan rentals with a collection date between the 20th December and the 10th of January are subject to a ten-day minimum rental requirement.
- Mighty Double Up and Big Six rentals from Sydney that collect during the Bathurst races will have a minimum rental requirement of 7 days. The races usually occur in early October.
- Mighty Double Up and Big Six rentals from Melbourne that collect during the Phillip Island races, will have a minimum rental requirement of 7 days.
- Minimum rental periods are subject to change during peak periods.
- Rental days are calculated on a calendar day basis. When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick-up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick-up time. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental.
- Late pick-up or early return of vehicle, does not entitle the hirer to any refund of the unused portion of the rental.
- Mighty Pick Up is a self-service process and requires the Customer to have completed Self Check-In online or in the branch. If additional service is required from a Mighty staff member, a fee of AU$50 may apply.
- The Customer is required to pick up at the time selected when the booking is confirmed. If the Customer wishes to change this time prior to the day of travel, they must obtain authorisation from the Mighty Reservation Centre. Mighty allows a grace period of 59 minutes.
- The Customer is required to drop off at the time stated on the Rental Agreement. If the customer wishes to change this time prior to the day of drop off, they must obtain authorisation from the Mighty Reservation Centre. Mighty allows a grace period of 59 minutes.
- If the customer wishes to extend the rental for an extra day(s) whilst on hire, they must first obtain authorisation from Reservations or any of the Mighty branches. The rental extension is subject to vehicle availability. The cost of an extended rental day(s) must be paid by credit card over the telephone on confirmation of the rental extension. The rate charged may not reflect the original rate booked. Failure to obtain authorisation will result in a daily fee of AU$150 in addition to the daily rate.

ONE-WAY RENTALS
One-way rentals are available between all Mighty branch locations with the exception of the Jackpot which is only available to and from Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Cairns. Big Six is only available to and from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Big Six is also available for Perth to Perth hires, but is not available for one way hires out of or into Perth. The Lowball is not available to or from Alice Springs.

Minimum rental period for one-way hires is 7 days or greater depending on collection and return location please refer to the one way matrix.

A one-way fee of AU$200 applies where pick up originates from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, and also returns to one of these locations, except where the vehicle hired is a Deuce, Double Up or Big Six campervan then a AU$260 one-way fee will apply. Should the hire originate or return to or from Darwin, Alice Springs or Perth, the one- way fee will be $360. Example, a Cairns to Darwin one-way rental would incur a one-way fee of AU$360. A one-way rental from Cairns to Brisbane will incur a one-way fee of AU$200, except where the vehicle hired is a Deuce or Double Up or Big Six campervan then a AU$260 one-way fee will apply.

Mighty reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions and/or the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period.

CHANGE OF LOCATION
If the customer wishes to change the pick up or drop-off location from what was originally booked, permission must be first obtained from the reservations.

Subject to the change being approved, an additional charge of up to AU$750 may apply.

TRANSFERS
Mighty clients will need to make their own way from the airport to the applicable Mighty branch, at their own expense.

TOLL AND TRAFFIC OFFENCES AND ADMINISTRATION FEES
Mighty reserves the right to charge the hirer for any speeding, toll way or parking fines. In addition to the costs associated per fine, an administration fee of AU$60 may be applicable.

EXCHANGE RATE / CURRENCY VARIATIONS
All credit and debit card transactions are conducted in Australian dollars. Due to exchange rate fluctuations and bank transaction fees there could be some variance in the amount refunded compared to the amount initially charged. Mighty does not accept any liability for variances up or down.

LICENCE
A current and full  (i.e. no probationary licences are accepted) Australian or New Zealand motor vehicle driver’s licence is required and must be produced upon vehicle collection.

AGE Restrictions
Drivers must be 21 years of age or over.  If the rented vehicle is a Lowball, Highball or Jackpot; drivers must be 18 years of age or over. 

MULTIPLE RENTALS
Should a customer have more than one consecutive rental they can be combined to qualify for longer-term hire discounts off the vehicle rate. Consecutive campervan hire in Australia and New Zealand and/or consecutive car hire in New Zealand for Mighty can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s is within a 3-month period. For all rentals to qualify each booking needs to be made at the same time. If a customer makes another booking at a later time, the new booking can be combined to qualify if the vehicle collection date/s is within a 3-month period however, the original booking/s will only qualify for a discount if the booking/s are not already travelling or travelled.

Note that 2WD car hire cannot be combined with any campervan hire to qualify for longer-term discounts.
Longer-term discounts must be requested at the time of booking.

For campervans that pick up and drop off on the same day, the less expensive rental day will be free of charge. This also applies to the The Almighty option if applicable.

If multiple hires are within the same country and total days exceed 50 days only the maximum charge applicable to the Mighty Confident or The Almighty will apply. If combining a vehicle hire with another Mighty vehicle that has a more expensive Mighty Confident option or The Almighty option, the more expensive maximum cost is applied.

Vehicle security deposits can be transferred between most multiple rentals. This service is available when the booked products are campervans and the vehicle security deposit amount is the same.

ROAD RESTRICTIONS
Campervans can only be driven on sealed/bitumen roads. The only exceptions to this are well-maintained access roads of less than twelve kilometres* to recognised campgrounds and well-maintained, recognised roads on Kangaroo Island (South Australia).

Should a customer wish to travel on an unsealed road that is greater than twelve kilometres in length to access a recognised campground special permission can be arranged pending road condition, weather and distance. Please contact your local representative to discuss.

Mighty reserves the right at its sole discretion to restrict vehicle movements in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions and/or the distance to nominated destinations in relation to the length of the hire period.

Baby Seat/ Booster Seat Restraints
The type of restraint required for your child depends on their age as follows:
• Children aged under six months (up to 9kg) must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear facing child restraint. Children in this category cannot be seated in the front of our vehicles.
• Children aged between six months and under four years (8 – 18kg) must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, rear facing child restraint OR a forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness. Children in this category cannot be seated in the front of our vehicles.
• Children aged between four years and under seven (14 – 26 kg) must wear an approved, properly fastened and adjusted, forward facing child restraint with an in-built harness OR an approved booster seat which is properly positioned and fastened. Whilst it is legal (under certain circumstances) for a child in this category to sit in the front seat, Mighty does not recommend any child under 26kgs or under seven years travels in the front seat.
• All child restraints must comply with current Australian Standards and it is the responsibility of customers to fit them in the vehicle. We strongly recommend any child restraints are pre booked.
WHERE YOUR CHILD CAN SIT
• Front seats in Mighty vehicles are not fitted with anchor points and cannot accommodate children under four years in any case.
• If all appropriate rear seats are being used by children under seven years, children aged between four and six years (inclusive) may travel in the front seat, provided they use an approved booster seat.

PLEASE NOTE
Mighty vehicles are not fitted with child safety barriers for top bunk / overhead beds. Mighty recommends children sleep in the lower dinette-converted beds.

ON-ROAD ASSISTANCE
Any problems associated with the vehicle, including equipment failure, must be reported to Mighty as soon as possible and within 24 hours in order to give Mighty the opportunity to rectify the problem during the rental. Failure to do so will compromise any claims for compensation. Mighty does not accept liability for any claims submitted after this period.

REPAIRS
Repairs up to AU$200 may be effected without authorisation and will be reimbursed upon presentation of a receipt provided the customer was not directly responsible for the damage. For amounts over AU$200, Mighty will need to be informed in advance. Repairs will be approved provided the customer was not directly responsible for the damage. Receipts must be submitted for any repair or the claim will not be paid.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE
Should the vehicle booked be unavailable, Mighty reserves the right to substitute an alternative vehicle without prior notification and at no extra cost. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the hirer to a refund.

VEHICLE CATEGORY
Vehicles cannot be requested by make or model, only by vehicle category.

VOLUNTARY DOWNGRADE
Should the hirer decide to take a smaller vehicle than booked they will not be entitled to any refund.

DISCRETION
Mighty reserves the right to refuse any rental at its discretion.

ANIMALS
No animals are permitted in our vehicles, excluding guide dogs.

PERSONAL AND COMPANY CHEQUES
Personal and Company cheques will not be accepted as payment for rentals at the time of pick-up. These must be paid to Mighty 14 days prior to commencement of rentals. Personal or Company cheques are not acceptable as the vehicle security deposit.

CALCULATION ERRORS

OPERATING HOURS
Mighty branches are open 7 days a week with the following exceptions:
• Mighty branches are closed on Christmas Day (25th December), New Year’s Day (1st January) and Australia Day Public Holiday (26th
January).
• Mighty branches are closed on Sundays during off peak months. See “dates and hours of operation” for more information.
• A $100  surcharge will apply  to all  rentals picking up or dropping off on Good Friday  (18th April), Easter Monday  (21st April), ANZAC Day (25th April) and Boxing Day (26th December). 
• During the period from 20th December to 28th February the Darwin branch will be closed.
Note: Last vehicle collections are an hour before closing.
Please ensure that adequate time is allowed to complete the required paperwork when collecting or returning a vehicle. All vehicles must be collected from and returned to a Mighty branch.

The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.

Liability
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.95% credit card or debit card surcharge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency): 25.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
We are committed to providing a quality service and aim for complete customer satisfaction. In the event of cancellation, any refunds or penalties are detailed in the terms and conditions of your selected vehicle that you are asked to read and accept at time of booking. In the event you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.

Mighty Campers AU (Domestic) Insurance

FOR YOUR PROTECTION
Personal injury is covered in most cases through registration Third Party insurance. Mighty does not accept any liability for personal injuries sustained during the rental andrecommend the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have personaltravel insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings.  Mighty stronglyrecommends that all people travelling in Australia take out personal travel insurance.

# In the USA a liability is referred to as the “deductible”.

MIGHTY LIGHT:
All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a Third Party. The Mighty Light vehicle liability is included in the daily rental rate and the hirer is responsible for the first AU$3,500 (“the liability”) for the Lowball, Highball, Jackpot Double Down and Deuce or AU$5,000 (“the liability”) for the Double Up, of the cost of damage to Third Party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident (does not include single vehicle roll over), windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is being repaired. In addition to these costs, an administration fee of AU$60 may apply, per claim.

The liability is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental.

Mighty reserves the right to charge the hirer for any vehicle damage including Third Party property damage not reported on return of the vehicle. The liability will be refunded if Mighty is successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the Third Party. Please note that Third Party claims can take months to resolve.

The liability applies in respect of each claim, not rental.

Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all liability cover will be made void.

THE ALMIGHTY:
The Almighty is in addition to the daily rental rate.
In addition to the inclusions in the daily rental rate, The Almighty includes:

- Mighty Confident (NIL liability)
- Tyre and Windscreen Cover* (valued at $5 per day)
- Camping Chairs (1 per person travelling)
- Camping Table
- Pre-Purchase Gas (customers can return the vehicle without refilling the gas bottle. Gas is used for cooking and heating hot water in vehicles with a hot water facility)
- Extra Driver Fees
* Unlimited windscreen and tyres will be covered for accidental damage.
* Note that tyre and windscreen cover is only available with The Almighty. It can not be purchased separately.

Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all liability cover will be made void.

MIGHTY STRONGLY RECOMMENDS OUR CUSTOMERS TAKE THE ALMIGHTY OPTION FOR TRAVEL WITH PEACE OF MIND.

EXCLUSIONS:
All liability cover will be made void if any of the following ‘Exclusions’ are breached:
1. Overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle except where The Almighty option has been purchased (does not cover single vehicle roll over).
2. A single vehicle roll over occurs except where Additional Protection coverage has been purchased.
3. Tyre and windscreen damage unless The Almighty option has been purchased.
4. Any water related damage which includes, but is not limited to:
     a) any vehicle submersion
     b) creek or river crossing
     c) driving through flooded areas
     d) beach driving
5. Personal belongings. Mighty recommends the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have travel insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings.
6. Any damage caused by wilful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle).
7. Any damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
8. Damage caused to the vehicle by snow chains.
9. Cost of replacement of any lost or stolen additional hire items, living equipment or linen.
10. The Customer will be liable for any costs associated with the incorrect use of fuel or the use of Bio-Diesel which should not be used (fuel being diesel or petrol), or water or other contamination of fuel.
11. The cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged, caught, trapped, stuck or restricted in anyway and/or has been abandoned.
12. The cost to replace keys, which have been lost or retrieval of keys, which have been locked in a vehicle.
13. The vehicle rented may only be used to carry the maximum number of passengers as dictated by the vehicle type. If more passengers are carried than what is allowed Mighty does not accept any liability.
14. Damage caused to the vehicle because total load (kg) has exceeded recommended load as stated in vehicle manual. Vehicles are not to be used for the purpose of transporting and haulage of goods other than what might be reasonably expected of a leisure rental.
15. Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that have a licence that has been cancelled or suspended and/or drivers who have a licence that is classified as a learners or probationary licence.

VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT
Upon vehicle collection, a vehicle security deposit is required. The amount is determined by the Liability reduction option selected. The vehicle security deposit is applicable regardless if the hirer has purchased private travel insurance.

For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a vehicle security deposit. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the vehicle security deposit upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle. Any type of pre-paid travel card is not acceptable as a means to provide a vehicle security deposit. Visa and MasterCard debit cards are acceptable provided the card is being used as a credit card.

Debited vehicle security deposits are subject to a 2% credit card administration fee in addition to the vehicle security deposit amount. Accepted credit cards are Visa or MasterCard.

If the customer elects to keep the Mighty Light vehicle liability and no further Liability reduction option selected, the vehicle security deposit is AU$5,000 for the Double Up and AU$3,500 for all other Campervans payable by credit card.
The AU$3,500 or AU$5,000 is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If The Almighty option is selected, the vehicle security deposit is AU$220.
The AU$220 is taken as an imprint to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. An imprint simply records a figure against the hirer’s credit card of AU$220 that Mighty can then debit if required.

The vehicle security deposit is fully refundable, including the credit card surcharge if the card used to provide the vehicle security deposit is a Visa or MasterCard, provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, in a clean condition, having completed all items on the Mighty Vehicle Return Checklist and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle. Except where the customer has purchased the Pre-Purchase Gas Option (PGO is included in The Almighty) and/or Pre Purchase Fuel (PPF), failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tanks and/or a full LPG bottle will result in refill charges, which will be advised upon return of the vehicle. Failure to adhere to these requirements will result in additional charges plus an administration fee of $50.

Mighty reserves the right to retain an AU$220 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned in a clean condition. This includes smoking related cleaning, as smoking is not permitted in the vehicle. The toilet and waste water tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional AU$125 soiling fee will be retained for those vehicles with a toilet and/or waste water tank.

FOR SECURITY PURPOSES, ONLY THE HIRERS CREDIT CARD CAN BE USED FOR VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSITS.
